''Too often, Muslims are thought of as fanatics who make poor citizens because their primary loyalty is to one another and not to the nations in which they live.
Islam itself strikes many Americans as a mystery, with values outside their own traditions, and practiced primarily by men with long beards and by women in odd clothing. These impressions are reinforced by the media’s tendency to focus on the sensational – on incidents of violence and extreme chauvinism''.
''We must listen to and learn from each other. We must search for the best in ourselves and in all who are around us. And we must be guided by facts, not fear.''
Yes, i agree we should be driven by facts not fear. Unfortunatly, in much of life that is not reasonable to expect. Madeline is on another planet with a outer space ideal.
This will probably be my only comment on Islam and muslims...
I realize that in reality, most just want to have a good happy life like everybody else. BUT if they want to be seen this way by the whole world, THEY need to tackle the crap in their own back yard and root out the fundamentalist take over the world terrorists from amongst themselves.
It IS sickening that we have to allow the full body and face covered women inside the likes of banks and other places, imagine what would happen it was a bomber under that.
Who made us scared of them? They did.
I make no apology for not liking them as a religion/way of life... They want trust and acceptance? They know what to do to get it.
Muslim people: trust and ACCEPTANCE cuts both ways.
